THE HERO CLUB 5K 2018
RAISING FUNDS AND AWARENESS FOR PPPD
Persistent Postural Perceptual Dizziness, also known as PPPD and 3PD, is the most common vestibular disorder for people between the ages of 30 and 55 years old. It’s is a neurological/vestibular condition that was discovered in 2015 by the Mayo Clinic, MN. It causes it’s patients to experience persistent sensations of rocking, dizziness, lightheadedness, ocular problems, and makes them completely disabled. There is no known cause or cure for this condition either so anyone could contract PPPD at any time and there’s nothing we can do. Furthermore, PPPD is widely unknown by many doctors and people alike and is not even in the ICD codes (a list of all known diseases and related health problems created by the World Health Organization). The HERO Club team’s goal is to raise awareness and funds for this chronic condition that’s suffered by many across the globe.
All the proceeds raised from our 5k will go to the Mayo Clinic for further research on this terrible condition. To date, we have raised almost $30,000 for the cause. To learn more about a specific year and what we accomplished please click on it.
